Adolescent Center Classroom Teacher
Job Summary:
The Classroom Teacher position will be primarily responsible for taking care of classroom functions and assisting the School Administration in their duties.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintains order and discipline in the classroom and administers appropriate discipline when warranted by student behavior.
- Monitors and guides students through online curriculum.
- Keeps the classroom in a neat and fashionable order.
- Monitors students during weekly cleaning chores.
- Monitors during lunch and bathroom breaks.
- Prepares the classroom daily for student learning activities, including powering up computers, logging online, and maintaining computer updates.
- Keeps classroom attendance logs.
- Teaches and tutors students during daily classroom work.
- Assists in diagnostic testing and placement of students as directed by School Administration.
- Completes quarterly progress reports and weekly student percentage reports.
- Makes entries in the daily classroom logs and shift reports.
- Communicates any areas of concern with student learning or behavior to School Administration.
- Organizes and monitors PE activities during offseason.
- Monitors students during animal therapy.
- Coaches as needed.
- Speaks in chapel on occasion.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards in job situations.

- Must be a person of stable, sound judgement and possess qualities such as patience needed to work with residents from various family backgrounds.
- Must be available for duties outside of the classroom during planned events.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- TC Graduates must have been out of Teen Challenge for at least 12 months.
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience teaching in a school environment.
- Oklahoma teaching certificate required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and standing while working with students.
- Intermittent physical activity including standing, kneeling, walking across campus, bending, reaching and lifting up to 25 lbs.
