- Must have a willingness to grow spiritually.
- Must be knowledgeable about the Bible and know how to practically apply it.
- Must have a willingness to serve and be flexible to help meet the needs of the program.
- Must have a valid NC driver’s license.
- Must be completely clean from all drugs, smoking, and alcohol.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This role is an important part of the process for women overcoming addiction through the power of Christ, along with the partnership of each staff member working as a team. Resident tech will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of students while on duty. The live in resident tech is responsible for providing guidance and encouragement; fostering a Christ-centered atmosphere. Resident Tech’s also help students to learn and follow the program rules and offer mentorship during their recovery journey.
WORK RESPONSIBILITY:
- Supervise daily schedule as assigned.
- Lead evening devotions as scheduled.
- Responsible for training students on daily jobs and supervising work detail as needed and inspecting jobs for completeness as per the job description posted in the work area.
- Drive students to church and do other activities/appointments as requested.
- Assist in supervising activities as assigned.
- Teach group studies; assist in writing contracts.
- Assist in Personal Studies as assigned
- While on duty, resident tech shall be responsible for visibly monitoring students and for reporting to the director any behavior or violation of rules.
- Assist with maintenance of the ministry home and grounds as needed.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Other jobs may be assigned from time to time. Staff occasionally may be required to perform related duties that are not specified in this description; please be flexible. (ex. yardwork, serving at the thrift store, etc.)
EXPECTATIONS:
Resident Tech’s will be required to know how to present the gospel to students that are new Christians, and to the people that we minster to while serving off campus. All staff will have the opportunity to share the gospel, so we encourage each staff member to always be prepared.
As a Resident Tech, you are to work alongside the students and instruct them in the ethics of work as well as how to do an assigned task.
As a Resident Tech it is our hope and desire that you will continue to grow in your spiritual walk as well as your ability to handle the job responsibilities listed above. All staff is required to remain up to date on all Teen Challenge certifications and document all other training courses received (ex. Conferences, counseling, etc.). Resident Tech will also be invited to participate in opportunities for further training as presented.
Resident Tech’s will be proactive in building positive relationships that are encouraging to the students.
When Resident Tech is on and off campus with students, they will be responsible for knowing where each student is always and who they are with.
The Resident Tech will be trained in policy and procedures that involve the upkeep and maintenance of the house, which will include fire drills and fire safety.
It is strongly suggested that Resident Tech have an accountability / mentor partner.
EVALUATION:
An evaluation with open dialogue will be conducted annually.
