Job Summary:
The Kitchen Manager will oversee all aspects of the kitchen operations to provide high-quality, nutritious meals for staff and students in compliance with USDA standards. This position requires a leader passionate about ministry, mentorship, and culinary excellence, with the ability to balance administrative duties, team supervision, and food service.

Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership & Supervision:
• Oversee kitchen staff, interns, and kitchen teams, delegating duties as necessary.
• Provide mentorship and leadership to team members through planning and communication.

Kitchen Operations:
• Plan, create, and manage all menus following USDA nutrition standards.
• Order and manage materials, supplies, and ingredients to meet kitchen demands.
• Ensure food preparation, cooking processes, and storage comply with health and safety regulations.
• Train kitchen teams alongside the Kitchen Coordinator in designated stations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.

Administrative Duties:
• Conduct weekly inventory assessments and generate monthly cost reports.
• Work with the Program Director to price and update menu items.
• Oversee and schedule maintenance and repairs of kitchen appliances.

Ministry & Mentorship:
• Serve as a mentor and point of contact for a caseload of 2-4 students.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of student interactions in Sober Peer.
• Participate in occasional trips or activities (e.g., mission trips, field trips).

Team Collaboration:
• Communicate with leadership, including the Program Director, School Administrator, Admissions Coordinator, and others.
• Act as a liaison between students, executive leadership, and food brokers.

Other Duties:
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and certification programs, including CPR, First Aid, CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), and physical restraint training.
• Build relationships with external food suppliers and brokers.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience in kitchen management or related culinary roles.
• Strong leadership and delegation skills with the ability to maintain a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of USDA nutrition standards and health and safety regulations.
• Flexibility to work irregular hours and participate in ministry activities.
• Passion for mentoring youth and engaging in ministry work.

Preferred Skills:
• Experience with menu planning and cost control.
• Ability to lead and inspire kitchen teams in a Christ-centered environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
