Education Coordinator (New)

The primary responsibility of the Education Coordinator is to supervise students, classroom staff and teachers. The Education Coordinator oversees and is responsible for the Education Department. Housing available.
- Must be 21 or older to work directly with youth.
- Be able to read, write, and communicate with co-workers, medical personnel, and other persons necessary to care for the child’s needs.
- Must maintain any licensures/certifications during employment and obtain within required timeframes, if approved.
- Clear criminal background check
- Ministry and Pastoral reference
- Clear drug/alcohol testing results
- Clear Tuberculosis results
- Clear Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Check.
- Shall be a person of spiritual maturity, amiable to the Assemblies of God doctrine, and in full agreement with the ATCOT mission statement.
- Complete the Effective Biblical Counseling course or an equivalent course
- Knowledge of Christian discipleship and mentor relationshipsPreferred Qualifications
- Ideally credentialed as a minister or pursuing credentials in the AG or doctrinally similar fellowship
- Bachelor’s Degree from a Bible College or its equivalent or
- Two years Teen Challenge or similar ministry experience or
- One year Teen Challenge classroom teaching experience or
- License/Ordained minister of the Assemblies of God or doctrinally similar fellowship or
- Teen Challenge ministry experience is desirable; relevant leadership experience.
- Shall have a current understanding and working knowledge of addictive problems and their deleterious effects. He/she shall have knowledge of the various treatment approaches and the reality that the only cure is in Jesus Christ. He/she shall be empathetic to those with life controlling problems.
- Complete the Effective Biblical Counseling course or an equivalent course.
- Complete the P.S.N.L. certification course or
- Ideally credentialed as a minister or pursuing credentials in the AG or doctrinally similar fellowship
· You must provide oversight of caregivers, including volunteers to: o (1) Protect children’s health, safety, and well-being and
o (2) Ensure that assigned duties are performed adequately.
· Be an ambassador and always reflect TC values
· Recognize the signs of abuse, neglect, exploitation, and provocative behavior. Follow reporting requirements for relevant state and federal contract requirements and document adhering to timeframes.
· Ensure completion of required training (maintain First Aid and CPR certification, Emergency Behavior Intervention certification, ATCOT, training)
· Self-Administration of Medications with student medication according to New Hope policies.
· Conduct Bible studies
· Lead prayer
· Conduct evangelistic outreach
· Engage in religious instruction
· Work with other departments to comply with all TCUSA & COGNIA accreditations
· Participate in campus events and chapels as required
· Supervision (following staff check off list responsibilities), mentoring, and interacting with residents during various activities, which may include but is not limited to online school, TC Curriculum, work periods, free time, and recreational activities
· Administer discipline according to New Hope policies
· Minister to students as opportunity arises and/or during scheduled sessions
· Become a mentor to students
· Meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean
· Maintains dependable attendance and ability to work a flexible schedule.
· May need to respond to emergencies to ensure the safety and security of the youth.
· Must maintain confidentiality in all program areas, including any youth information.
· Maintain confidentiality of health care records and information
· Maintain professional conduct and ensure appropriate, respectful interactions during any contact with youth, staff, state licensing representatives, others, or community members
· Follow all company policies and procedures
· Other Responsibilities assigned by Director or TC leadership.
· Ensure appropriate coverage for the education of youth.
· Ensure that resources are available, and inventory is maintained for any supplies needed for education. · Monitor ratio requirements. · The Education Coordinator shall work in cooperation with the Program Coordinators in areas where the welfare of the students and program responsibilities overlap. · Ensure that staff complete any situational reports and are completed following TC policies and procedures. · Ensure that Teachers are properly trained in completing an TC policies and procedures to include education policies and procedure and on emergency protocols always ensuring that the child or youth’s needs are safely met. · Must report any concerns with children or youth immediately the TC leadership and adhere to the reporting and documenting process as per policies and procedures set forth by TC requirements. · May need to respond to emergency events to ensure the safety and security of the youth in care. · Ensure adherence to school and daily program schedules and report any unplanned changes to immediate supervisor timely. · Must be knowledgeable of TC policies and procedure and always ensure adherence. |
