Eating disorders are marked with a significant change in common eating habits. Some may start gradually, taking away or adding more food to their diet, but eventually the habit will grow out of control. Concerns with body image could lead to the initial change in dieting, but it could grow in severity.
The three common types of eating disorders are anorexia-nervosa (little or no food consumption), binge eating (compulsively eating too much food), and bulimia nervosa (binge eating followed by periods of purging).
