This position requires a deep commitment to the Christian faith, its principles and practices. This position can expect to regularly be praying with other staff clients and supporters. Participating in regular Bible studies and discipleship. Staff should actively seek to live out what we teach our clients and apply this faith in their personal and professional lives. Position Summary
The Events Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of events that advance the organization’s mission, strengthen community engagement, and support fundraising and program objectives. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring a high standard of excellence in event delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning & Management
- Plan, organize, and execute events such as fundraisers, banquets, community outreach events, donor appreciation functions, and awareness campaigns.
- Develop and maintain detailed event timelines, budgets, and checklists.
- Coordinate venue bookings, catering, décor, audio/visual needs, and other logistics.
- Ensure all necessary permits, insurance, and compliance requirements are met.
- Fundraising & Donor Engagement
- Work with the departments to align and equip them with event engagements and tools to support with fundraising objectives.
- Secure and maintain event sponsorships, prize items, and in-kind donations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with committees, sponsors, vendors, and community partners.
- Marketing & Communications
- Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events through print, digital, and social media channels.
- Prepare event collateral such as invitations, programs, signage, and sponsorship recognition materials.
- Assist with post-event communications, including thank-you letters, impact reports, and donor follow-up.
- Volunteer Coordination
- Recruit, train, and supervise event volunteers.
- Provide clear instructions, roles, and responsibilities for volunteer teams and committees.
- Event Day Leadership
- Provide leadership to all on-site event logistics, acting as the primary point of contact for vendors, staff, and volunteers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly to ensure smooth execution.
- Evaluation & Reporting
- Conduct post-event evaluations, tracking attendance, expenses, fundraising outcomes, and participant feedback.
- Provide reports and recommendations for improving future events.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience in event planning, coordination, and execution (nonprofit or fundraising event experience preferred).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Apple devices and event management software (e.g., Classy, Virtuous,) is considered an asset.
- Creative problem-solving skills and ability to adapt under pressure.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required for events.
- Travel within Central Canada as required for events (all of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario)
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (if applicable).
- Requirement of clear criminal record check for the purpose of working with vulnerable persons
