Description

Classroom Teachers will be primarily responsible to take care of the classroom functions and assist the School Administration in their duties.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain order and discipline in the classroom and administer appropriate discipline when warranted by student’s behavior.
  • Monitor and guide students through the online curriculum.
  • Keep the classroom in a neat and fashionable order.
  • Monitor students during weekly cleaning chores.
  • Monitor lunch and bathroom breaks.
  • Prepare the classroom daily for student learning activities, including powering up computers, logging online, and maintaining updates on the computer.
  • Keep classroom attendance logs.
  • Teaching and tutoring students in daily classroom work.
  • Assisting in diagnostic testing and placement of students as directed by the School Administration.
  • Completing quarterly progress reports and weekly student percentage reports.
  • Making entries in the daily classroom logs/shift reports.
  • Communicate any areas of concern with student learning or behavior to the School Administration.
  • Some coaching duties may be added.
  • Speak in the chapel on occasion.
  • Send out monthly emails to parents on student progress.
  • Organize and monitor PE activities during the offseason.
  • Monitor students during Animal Therapy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • College Degree Preferred or working towards a Bachelor’s degree
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid Driver’s License and no major driving violations
  • All applicants will be background-checked.
  • Mature and Godly character.
  • TC Graduates must have been out of Teen Challenge for at least 12 months.
  • Amiable to the Assembly of God doctrine.
  • In full agreement with the Teen Challenge Mission Statement.
  • Must be a person of good character whose integrity is above reproach.
  • Must obtain 35 CEUs each school calendar year.
  • Staff must be a person of stable, sound judgment, and possess spiritual qualities such as patience, needed to work with residents from various family backgrounds.
  • Must be available for duties outside of the classroom during planned events.
