Our Story

It started with one step of faith.

In 1958, a young pastor named David Wilkerson felt called to leave the familiarity of his rural church and go to New York City, where young people were being consumed by gangs, violence, and addiction.What began as a simple act of obedience grew into Teen Challenge, a ministry built on the belief that no one is beyond the transforming power of Jesus.

More than six decades later, that same conviction continues through Adult & Teen Challenge centers across the country, helping people find hope, healing, and a new way forward.
