Adult & Teen Challenge Pacific Northwest – About us:

We are a faith based ministry that provides services for the recovery from addiction of all types. We have many inpatient care facilities that offer long term recovery services (year long programs), vocational training in our TC Resale & Donation centers, as well as evidence-based counseling services for inpatient and outpatient clients (Outpatient Life Renewal Program). We endeavor to “put hope within reach of every addict” by providing well rounded services and fostering a strong relationship with Christ.

Recovery Coach at Eugene, Oregon Women’s Campus:

This position is a direct care position at our Eugene Women’s Campus. Our campus in Eugene is unique in that it offers services for mothers in recovery and allows them to bring their children with them into this long term program. Our students are parents, and not only are we building their relationships with Christ, but we are introducing Christ to their children as well. We hope to bring someone on the team that can help minister and disciple to our students and help them progress in their recovery as well as their faith.

General Statement of Duties & Responsibilities:

Position requires specific responsibility for:

Committing time and encouragement to disciple Students in their recovery;
Morning, day and evening hours of supervision and security for the facility and program residents;
Preparation of written reports as required; and
Supporting other Adult & Teen Challenge PNW staff as needed.

This position is determined to be a ministry staff position by role and function. Duties will include when necessary or directed: Leading prayer and Bible studies, discipling to students and others, conducting evangelistic or humanitarian outreaches, and teaching religious or non-religious instruction.

Supervision Received:
*
*
Works under the direct supervision of a Center Director or designee, who determines goals, assigns work and reviews performance for overall effectiveness through reports, observation and conferences. Employee shall exercise a degree of independent decision and judgment in relation to scope of duties and responsibilities.

Examples of Principle Duties: (Examples do not cover all duties that will be performed).

1. To carry out vision and mission for the local center in direct relationship with the Regional ministry.
*
*
2. A thorough working knowledge of all program policies and procedures relative to assigned scope of duties and responsibilities included in the Adult & Teen Challenge PNW “Staff Policies and Procedures Manual”, “Crisis Manual” and the “Student Manual”.
*
*
3. Responsible for the securing of facility at night after lights out or when students are leaving the facility for outside activities.
*
*
4. Responsible for implementing weekly scheduled group activities set by staff.
*
*
5. Transportation of students, if required, to designated program activities.
*
*
6. Prepares periodic reports pertaining to a student’s attitude or behavior as the need arises.
*
*
7. Supervising student phone calls during authorized times.
*
*
8. Understanding the Emergency Action Plan for the local center which shall include: 1) list of contacts for notification of emergency services as required, 2) evacuation plan of facility if required, 3) notification of designated staff personnel as required, and 4) a working knowledge of the automatic fire alarm system.

9. Responsible for the serving of regularly scheduled meals.
*

10. Supervises student morning assignments for daily facility clean-up and maintenance.
*

11. Possess good standards of personal hygiene and a clean neat appearance including prescribed standards for hair and dress.

12. Other related work as required.

Recruiting Requirements – Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
*

Serving at a local center will require:

A working knowledge of the methods and practices of supervision and the ability to carry them out;
An understanding of the methods, practices and objectives of the Adult & Teen Challenge PNW program;
Working knowledge and ability to produce required reports;
Considerable ability to work harmoniously with other staff personnel and students;
Good physical health and the ability to supervise the evening and early morning program schedule;
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form;
Emotional maturity, professional objectivity and the ability to act in a Christian manner

Experience and Training:
*
*
1. Graduation from a senior high school or GED certificate, and/or Teen Challenge Internship Program: and
*
*
2. Demonstrated competency to effectively interact, work with and supervise students participating in the program: or,
*
*
3. Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training demonstrating competency in executing the duties and responsibilities for Pacific Northwest Adult and Teen Challenge.

Special Requirements:
*
*
1. Possession of, or ability to obtain within 30 days, a valid drivers license in State of Domicile, if appropriate.

Pay: $13.00 – $15.00 per hour
