PA Adult and Teen Challenge offers both a Christian faith based long term rehabilitation program, and short term and outpatient treatment programs for individuals struggling with chemical addiction.
Our Cheswick, PA location has an opening for a counselor with a focus on pastoral care! This position works with an all male population.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Participate in case-consultations and professional trainings.
Maintain DDAP required continuing education of 25 hours per year.
Mentor students through the teachings of Christ and a Biblical framework for addressing substance use disorder.
Counsel a 10-12 client caseload, running both process groups and 1 on 1 sessions for them.
Strive to demonstrate spiritual and moral character to all clients in accordance with Adult and Teen Challenge principles.
Demonstrate love and respect towards clients, at the same time being firm and directive; pointing them toward their personal goals and spiritual development.
Maintain accurate and updated records for each student on the Sigmund/Aura system in accordance with DDAP and managed care standards, as determined by the clinical supervisor.
Teach classes as assigned. Grade homework, administer tests and record grades as needed.
Investigate client/student incidents, connect with other staff, and assist in administration of appropriate discipline as necessary.
College degree (minimum associates degree) with a focus on pastoring, or addictions counseling preferred
Biblical studies, pastoral or other related degree from accredited school accepted for this position.
High school diploma only possibly accepted with other experience
Passion and appreciation for the Christian mission of the organization
