Chief Operating Officer (COO):
The job description of the Chief Operating Officer or COO is to oversee Adult Teen Challenge St. Louis ongoing operations, policies and procedures. You will be Adult Teen Challenge St. Louis’ second executive position and responsible for the efficiency of organizations’ operations. The COO role is a key member of the senior management team, reporting only to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). You will have responsibility for diverse organizational operations. The goal of the COO position is to insure the implementation of the mission of the organization through operational procedures, policies and strategies.
COO responsibilities include:
• Designing and implementing operational policies and procedures
• Establishing policies that promote the mission of the organization
• Oversees the operations of the organization and staff responsibilities
• Design and implement strategies, plans and procedures to further the mission
• Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
• Establish policies that promote the organization’s mission, culture and vision
• Oversee daily operations of the organization and the work of key staff relating to IT, Marketing, Sales, Finance etc.
• Attends Board Strategic Planning and Board Meetings at the invitation of the CEO
• Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
• Evaluate performance by analyzing staff job responsibilities
• Write and submit reports to the CEO in all matters of importance
• Assist CEO in fundraising ventures
• Participate in program and project expansion activities based upon the organization’s mission
• Manage relationships with community partners, religious and community leaders
• Defining, implementing and revising operational policies and guidelines for the organization as needed
• Developing and executing new growth directives
• Working within the organizations human resource guidelines to create job descriptions, hire competent personnel and oversee employee training programs
• Working within the organization’s human resource guidelines to develop and implement staff evaluation parameters
• Coordinate with department staff to develop financial plans and ensure organizational operational compliance
• Oversee organization’s revenue margins and conduct budget reviews to maximize profits
• Overseeing client support services
• Managing procurement and resource allocation

• Proven experience as Chief Operating Officer or relevant role
• Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, marketing etc.
• Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and organizational development
• Experience in fundraising necessary
• Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
• Working knowledge of IT/Business infrastructure, Quickbooks and MS Office
• Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
• Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills
• Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
• BSc/BA in Business Administration or relevant field;
3 years minimum experience in the Adult & Teen Challenge ministry and ordained in the Assemblies of God
Annual Salary $50,000+ with benefits.
